Around 2 years ago I decided that I would move forward with an idea I had of creating a website where I would discuss topics related to the Christian faith. I didn’t really have any clue what I was doing, or what I was trying to accomplish specifically, but I did know that I wanted (had) to put my words out there and that a blog was a good way to do that. I knew I wanted to help people and I saw value in the electronic method of achieving that goal.
What most people don’t know is that I was secretly monitoring 2 or 3 people who were already doing this (successfully). I read all of the content that they published. I observed the design characteristics of their websites. I closely monitored how they handled themselves with their readers. I basically absorbed as much information as humanly possible. I didn’t do this because I wanted to duplicate their design or content. It’s a persons originality and character that make them uniquely special. People want to read unique stuff, they don’t want to read the same content over and over again everywhere they go (this is the challenge of the writer)!
So with all of that in mind, I moved forward, created my blog, purchased the URL, put up some posts (that stunk), and set some personal goals. I decided I would not quit until I put out 52 posts (one per week). While it took me 2 years to achieve that 52 post goal, I made it, this week.
Why did I make it to my goal? Largely because of the encouragement and support of my good friend (and one of the bloggers I monitored) Bogdan Kipko.
Bogdan has been invaluable in my short blogging journey. When I have put out poorly written content loaded with poorly communicated ideas, he has always encouraged me with a suggestion on how I can improve, and how I am “growing as a writer”. It’s always been encouragement with Bogdan, the entire 2 years of my blogging journey.
His encouragement and positive outlook aren’t exclusive to the blogging medium either. On top of being a writer, he is also a devoted husband, and a committed pastor who zealously shepherds the hearts of those God has entrusted to him. For these reasons – and many, many more – I want to do whatever I can to convince you to subscribe to his blog and follow him on the various social media platforms. I believe from the bottom of my heart that by doing this (subscribing/following), you will learn new things that will help you grow in Godliness on a daily basis.
I’d like to give you 5 quick reasons why you need to subscribe to www.bogdankipko.com right now:
1) His content is relevant to all people, not just Christians. Regardless of which worldview you bring to the table, you stand to gain some powerful insight into life by reading his articles. There is a substantial amount of relevant content to be found.
2) His content is positive while so much in this world is negative. Facebook has become such a negative place. So many arguments over some seriously insignificant things. This isn’t the case with Bogdan’s writing. It is always positive, and he leaves the reader wanting more.
3) His content is practical and easy to apply to your life. While he is a seminary graduate who is familiar with all of the big theological words, he uses words and examples that anyone can relate to, regardless of their education level or demographic. He manages to do this while simultaneously keeping the content factually correct.
4) His content is Christ centered at heart, and the Gospel is found around every corner. If you need a daily serving of Jesus, you will get it in Bogdan’s content. He loves Jesus and the Gospel, and this is evident all throughout his material.
5) He has a genuine love for everyone, even those who disagree with him. He doesn’t think he’s better than his readers. Often times, he implies his readers are better than him. He doesn’t jump into fights with his readers, but instead allows them to voice their opinions while patiently sitting on the sidelines observing.
So if you’re sick of reading all of the negative content out there, and want to be encouraged, discipled, inspired, motivated, coached, and loved, make www.bogdankipko.com a part of your daily reading routine!
